2018 Women's Studies Conference (4)

17th Annual Women’s Studies Conference

The University of West Florida invites you to join us for the 17th Annual Women’s Studies Conference on Friday, March 23, 2018. This year’s conference will feature selected student presenters as well as our keynote speaker, Andrea Gibson. Joining together to explore issues related to women, gender, and sexuality will benefit our collective work as feminist scholars, professionals, educators, and activists. The annual conference invites our campus and community to strive to better the world we live in by addressing the complex range of questions and issues that emerge when we attend to gender. Our keynote Andrea Gibson will be hosting a gender theory workshop at UWF the day following the conference, March 24, at 10 am in the UWF Fieldhouse.

The University of West Florida’s Annual Women’s Studies Conference is one of the first and foremost student conference traditions here at the university. The presentations will take up diverse and complex themes raised by women, gender, and sexuality studies. This conference affords both graduate and undergraduate students the opportunity to present their work in a variety of academic disciplines, to engage in critical analysis of issues impacting the gendered lives of women, men and transgendered people, and to celebrate the success and hard work of the students presenting. If you are interested in presenting, please visit the Call for Works page. If you are interested in attending, please register here.

We look forward to seeing you at the 2018 UWF Women’s Studies Conference!
